Armored Marshal: THL Justinian of Cherson Contact: armored.falconskeep@gmail.com Rapier Marshal: Baroness Ysabella DeMuerte Michalik Contact: rapier.falconskeep@gmail.com ![]() Greetings! First of all, news: The Honorable Lord Ralik Ravenwolf (Douglas Hizer) has been duly elected to be our new Seneschal. Second: He cordially invites you to a get-together on Sunday, August 15. We are putting the date out now for planning purposes. Location and time will be announced later, so keep watching this space! This is a great opportunity to reconnect with (or meet for the first time) other Shire members after this long, troubled time. If you just happen to bring your fighting gear, so much the better. Please note that all relevant regulations will be observed at this get-together. This includes bringing your own food and beverages. Third: As we look to the future, we are going to need to start planning events for 2022. Our traditional time to start planning for Haire Affaire is *checks wrist* right around the corner! If you have any ideas for the event, or just want to lend a hand, let us know. We'll be glad to have you! Finally: For THL Ralik: VIVANT! YIS, Pedro ![]() At the last business meeting, we decided to hold an election for a new Seneschal. This election will be held on July 7. If you are interested, you are welcome to comment here. So far, Douglas Hizer has volunteered. Here is a partial list of requirements: -Must be an SCA Member in good standing. -Will be expected to lead meetings. -Must submit insurance for Shire events. If you decide to submit a nomination for Seneschal, it is strongly suggested you attend the July 7 meeting. If you wish to vote, but will be unavailable on that day, you may submit your vote to Lady Mary Mary Welker on July 6 by private message. This is your chance to have your voice heard to determine the future of the Shire. See you then! Yours In Service, Pedro ![]() Greetings! After 465 days, 20 hours and some minutes (yes, I checked) we will be having official fighter practice again! *celebratory noises* Fighter practice will be held on Mondays and Fridays. The first Monday practice will be June 28 at 6:30 PM at Iverson Park in Stevens Point. Address: 4601 WI-66, Stevens Point. Lord Grayson (Jerry J. Chubb) will be hosting. This will be the site for Monday practices. The first Friday practice will be July 3, at the home of Lord Justinian (Martin 'Justinian' Wissmueller) at 6:30 PM. Martin, if you wish to post your address, please do so in the comments. They will run until 10 PM or dusk. As always, practices are subject to weather conditions and attendance. It's finally time to scratch that fighting itch... Yours In Service, Pedro ![]() As most of you are aware, Baroness Alex (Terri Harteau) has recently been in a major car accident with Baron Janvier (Steven M. Harteau). Because of the future challenges that will presented by the recovery from this accident, Alex has thought it prudent to step down from the office of Seneschal. It has been communicated to me that her wish is for the Shire to vote on a new Seneschal. There was a virtual Shire meeting tentatively scheduled for Monday, June 14, at 7 PM. This meeting will go forward. Lady Mary (Mary Welker) has volunteered to run the meeting on Zoom. We will be discussing Shire business, as previously planned. We will also be discussing the method of choosing the new Seneschal. We will NOT be selecting a new Seneschal at this meeting. That being said: if you are interested in the position, you *must* be at this meeting. It should be noted that the Seneschal will be expected to schedule future meetings and set agendas for them, among other things. Please contact me by PM for more information if you are interested. Again, we will not be selecting a new Seneschal at this meeting. We will determine a fair method of selecting one at a future meeting. Finally, I hope you will join me in wishing Baroness Alex and Baron Janvier a speedy recovery. YIS,
Pedro de Benavides I am sorry to announce that Poor Man's will be cancelled this year. Crown cannot be held until the Canadian border is reopened & Kingdom has suspended rapier and armored combat for the month of August. Also, Wood County is strongly recommending any gathering be limited to 25 people or less. We will be holding PMP 25 in 2021. Mistress Alexandra der Wasserman
Seneschal of Falcon's Keep The SCA Census is now live and will run from June 7 to June 21 2020. Please note there are THREE parts to the survey. Give yourself ample time to complete.
If there are questions or challenges completing the survey, email census@sca.org. Be Seen! Be Heard! https://www.sca.org/sca-census-2020-faq/ ![]() At this point in time, we are still planning on Poor Man's Pennsic. Given the current state of the COVID-19 situation, it still might get canceled or postponed, but we are ready in case it is not. The one point that has become clear is that there will be no food services planned. For general safety of all participants, NO feast, pot luck, Chili Dump or other "group effort" meals will be planned at any level. So plan accordingly to supply all your own food and drink for this event. Also, there is talk of making Poor Man's only a single day event, too. More on that as it becomes available.
